Projects

Taungya implements a wide range of projects that reflect its commitment to Indigenous culture, environmental conservation, and socio-economic rights in the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Its initiatives address the needs of disadvantaged and remote communities, focusing on areas such as livelihood development, education, gender equality, customary law, watershed management, and biodiversity protection. Current projects include efforts to strengthen resilient livelihoods, empower youth leadership in Village Common Forest management, and support community schools, while past projects have covered themes like women’s rights, nutrition, eco-tourism, governance, and natural resource conservation.

Through partnerships with national and international donors, Taungya’s projects combine research, advocacy, and community mobilization to ensure sustainable outcomes. Each intervention is designed with community consent, guided by principles of self-reliance and equity, and supported by strong monitoring and evaluation systems. By linking grassroots realities with policy dialogue, Taungya’s projects serve as catalysts for inclusive development and long-term resilience in the Chittagong Hill Tracts.
