Geographical Coverage of Taungya

Taungya is legally registered with the Department of Social Services, Rangamati and the NGO Affairs Bureau, Bangladesh, which authorizes it to undertake development activities (except micro‑credit) in all upazilas and unions of the three Hill Districts with support from local, national, and international donors. Over the years, Taungya has gained rich experience working across the ten upazilas of Rangamati District, four upazilas in Khagrachari Hill District, and six upazilas in Bandarban Hill District, making its footprint extensive across the Chittagong Hill Tracts.

Present Coverage

Currently, Taungya’s active interventions span:

  • Rangamati Hill District – Jurachari, Barkal, Bilaichari, Rajasthali, Kaptai, Langadu, Kawkhali, Rangamati Sadar.
  • Khagrachari Hill District – Khagrachari Sadar, Panchari, Ramgarh, Guimara, Manikchari.
  • Bandarban Hill District – Thanchi and Lama.
