Our Health Services
Health is a core working area of Taungya Orgazination.
Health is a vital area of Taungya’s work in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, where communities often face limited access to basic services. Taungya’s health-related programmes focus on primary healthcare, nutrition, sanitation, and safe water practices, ensuring that women, children, and marginalized groups are prioritized. The organization integrates health awareness into schools and community initiatives, promoting hygiene education, maternal health, and preventive practices.
Through advocacy and training, Taungya strengthens local capacity to address health challenges, while also engaging traditional leaders and youth in awareness campaigns. Its programmes link health with broader development goals—such as education, gender equality, and livelihood security—so that well-being becomes a foundation for resilience and sustainable progress. By combining community mobilization with rights-based approaches, Taungya ensures that health is not treated in isolation but as an essential part of inclusive development in the CHT.
PRLC Project – Health Focus
Health was a central component of the PRLC Project, which addressed nutrition, sanitation, and maternal health alongside livelihood development. Farmer Field Schools included awareness on balanced diets, hygiene practices, and disaster resilience, ensuring that women and marginalized households improved both their income and health outcomes.
IPAF Project – Health Focus
The IPAF Project integrated health awareness into youth-led conservation activities. Training sessions emphasized safe water use, watershed protection, and eco-tourism practices that reduce community health risks. Gender-sensitive awareness campaigns also addressed women’s health rights and promoted inclusive participation in conservation and well-being.
