The Internship Programme of Taungya connects students from international and national universities with real‑world development practice in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT). It bridges academic learning with Taungya’s thematic expertise in Indigenous culture, ecology, socio‑economic rights, governance, gender, Health, WASH, education, and community empowerment. Interns gain practical exposure to the complexities of development in Indigenous contexts while contributing meaningfully to ongoing projects.

On boarding & Process

Interns are formally on boarded through Taungya’s official procedures, ensuring transparency and professionalism. Each intern is supported to:

• Develop a tailored internship plan based on their academic requirements.
• Engage in both desk‑based assignments and field activities.
• Work alongside Taungya staff and community leaders in thematic areas such as project management, HR and administration, finance, safeguarding, and advocacy.

Practical Engagement

Interns benefit from direct exposure to Taungya’s running projects and thematic works. Activities include:

• Research and Methodology Development – designing tools, surveys, and approaches for community studies.
• Community Mobilization – facilitating workshops, meetings, and awareness campaigns.
• Field Studies – conducting surveys, FGDs, KIIs, and participatory assessments.
• Learning Sessions – interactive discussions on Indigenous rights, gender equity, climate resilience, local governance, and safeguarding.

Certification & Outcomes

At the end of the internship, students receive a formal certificate of completion, recognizing their contribution and learning achievements. The programme equips interns with:

• Practical skills in project management, research, and advocacy.
• First‑hand experience in community‑driven development.
